FAQs
Kitesurfing is a sport within everyone's reach, from children (a minimum of 45 kg is preferable) to seniors. It does not require excellent physical condition and has the merit of making the whole body work. The main thing is above all, to be put in good learning environment and to be able to move forward at your own pace, step by step, in order to guarantee success.
It will depend on many factors and its definition of autonomy! The person's sporting experience, their age, their knowledge of the environment (including weather forecasts, tides), the equipment used, the learning conditions... A set of factors that cause some to leave lessons after three-sessions and others will prefer to stay supervised a little longer. But it is still one of the water surfing sports where progress is the fastest.
In private and semi-private lesson formats, it is not uncommon to reach a sufficient level during your first session to master the piloting of the kite and the management of the board in parallel and sometimes succeed in your first waterstarts. In most cases, a beginner will feel comfortable and ready to approach the board during their 2nd session. In any case, it is by moving forward at your own pace, step by step to stay in your comfort zone that the progression will be the most effective, fast and safe.
You should allow 3 to 3.5 hours for a semi-private lesson and slightly less for a private lesson.
Since a private lesson is more intensive the timings are slightly shorter as it is more tiring.
Wind forecasts, tide times and the student's level will be taken into account to establish the best time and place for the lesson. The aim is to provide them with the best possible conditions to succeed in their learning. This is why lesson times can vary greatly on our Brittany coast.
Water, sunglasses if you have them (strongly recommended on the first lesson) and sun cream. The school provides all the equipment needed for the activity, including wetsuits and neoprene booties; just bring a swimming costume.
We'll meet you in the car park at the spot, by the school's van. You'll be given a GPS point in the previous day's text message. We'll change and get all of the kiting gear ready in the car park.
If we feel that the weather conditions do not allow us to run a proper session for your level, we will cancel it (and keep you informed for the next available weather window); no payment will be made. Similarly, if we are forced to suspend a session due to insufficient wind or strong winds, we will apply the pro-rata rate and charge either 1 hour, a half lesson or 2 hours depending on the situation. Only hours or sessions completed will be billed. We like to spend as much time on the water kiting as possible, and we will do our utmost to ensure that you take advantage of favourable weather conditions during your stay.
Contact the school as soon as possible so that it can offer the place to another student. They will be very grateful!
